Zhangjiajie, Max Ridgway - guitar, recorded on June 12, 2015. Zhangjiajie (張家界), a remarkable collection of 3000 naturally-formed stone columns, appearing like a surreal ruined city shrouded in fog. It is located in the Hunan province of China. In ancient times, Zhangjiajie was regarded as remote and inaccessible. The earliest history of Zhangjiajie can be traced back to the Neolithic Age when it was called “Dayong”. The first traces of human activity in this area have been dated to about 100,000 years ago.
